The 31st Belgrade International Film
Festival will be opened on 28th February in Sava center
and during the next 10 days will present 95 films in
7 programs.
The most honoured guest of 31st FEST is French actor
and singer CHARLES AZNAVOUR, the president of honour
of the festival, who will attend the opening night.
The stars of opening film” THE QUIET AMERICAN” (directed
by Philip Noyce), Vietnamese actress and actor, DO THI
HAI YEN and QUANG HAI, will also attend the opening.
Special guests of the first day are French actress ANNA
MOUGLALIS, and director STEFAN ARSENIJEVIC, winner of
the Golden Bear for short film “(A)TORSIA” this year
in Berlin. ”(A)torsia” will have a special screening
on the opening night.
A small retrospective in the honour
of British cinematographer Ken Russell is arranged during
FEST. Three of his famous works will be shown: “Women
in Love”, “Mahler” and “Savage Messiah”. During his
stay in Belgrade, Ken Russell will receive “The Golden
Seal”, special award of the Museum of Yugoslav Film
Archive, where the retrospective is taking place.
Some other interesting and important guests are expected
in Belgrade in the first week of March.
The 31st FEST will take place in 4
cinemas: Sava center, Museum of Yugoslav Film Archive
(Kinoteka), Cultural Center of Belgrade (Kulturni centar
Beograda) and Dom Omladine.

CURRENTS and US TODAY (presenting festival winners and
hits)
FAR AND AWAY (presenting new works of filmmakers from
South-east Europe),
THE LIGHTHOUSE (new and intriguing names and works)
DEVIL IN THE FLESH (presenting erotic films)
FACTS AND PUZZLES (documentaries),
FEST FOR CHILDREN.
